Because we all have different testimonies of how God called us into this ministry, the answer of how everything began varies among us. Still, in His special way, the Lord made each of us personally aware of the same need. This awareness is the beginning of our story.
As a family and also individually, we all served through various channels of church ministry. Through years of taking part in missions, God began to grow a new desire in our hearts. He used those mission opportunities to allow us to minister to many outside the church walls. Over time, reaching out to those individuals on a regular basis became our passion.
It was then we all committed to use our God-given abilities to share His love with others as a family in full-time ministry. At the time, Mark was on staff at Taylors First Baptist Church. I was involved in women’s ministry through that same fellowship. Our youngest daughter
Meagan was in her first year at North Greenville University while Stuart and Erin were planning their wedding. None of us knew what step to take, but the calling was strong.
After months of praying, grieving and seeking Godly counsel, the Lord made His directions clear. In April 2009, Mark resigned from his position at Taylors. Soon after, we put our 7-acre farm up for sale
in order to be free of debt and able to follow the path of ministry placed before us.
By June, Mark served his last day at Taylors. Two weeks later, Stuart and Erin returned there to be married. God sent us on our first mission within the following month.
Since then, the Lord has presented so many opportunities for us to share His love with individuals both inside and outside the church walls. We never know what is coming next, but His grace is sufficient, His mercies are new every morning, and His love never fails. May He receive all the glory!
