Our Board

I strummed my first guitar as an 8-year-old boy and learned to play by watching Johnny Cash. My love for music has led me along many paths.

Since the launch of BFM, I have served the ministry in multi-faceted ways and consider the ministry opportunities as direct assignments from the Lord.

It’s been an honor and a great inspiration for me to be able to serve on the Brown Family Ministries’ board, because they do what I call “putting the rubber to the road” as far as living a true faith in Christ and serving Him.

The thing I remind myself is they literally sold all of their earthly goods and on faith stepped out and started this ministry. It has been a true ministry in my life to visually see somebody with that strong of a faith in Christ. And they still live it today. This whole ministry is based on faith, and the people they serve can’t afford to fund them to come. It’s been a good example for me to be able to follow that leap of faith. It doesn’t matter if it’s one person that’s needing to be ministered to or a thousand people whether it’s through music, or Bible study, or counseling, or just loving on people, they go. That’s what’s so great about the Brown family and their ministry. It’s an honor to serve on their board and watch such Christ-following folks.

This picture is a great example of the heart behind Brown Family Ministries. It’s me and one of my best friends, Al (pictured left), doing something we enjoy to share the love of Christ.

That’s what I appreciate most about being a part of this ministry—having the opportunity to witness God draw people to Himself through something as simple as a cookout.

I’ve known the Browns since they moved to South Carolina in 2003, and it has been an honor for me to serve alongside them. God has used this ministry in ways we never expected, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store.

What an honor to be a part of a ministry that is available to meet the needs of the physical and spiritual needs of those around us here and over the entire country. I am excited about every board meeting because it is an opportunity to see the Lord work through this ministry.

No task too big or no need too small, just follow Jesus, that’s all.

I have seen the Brown Family Ministry grow, change with the times and reach others in a way only explainable by the direction of our Lord.

Mark and Angie have been undeterred by adversity, even COVID 19, and have been able to reach out to those in need, and travel safely and are planning several events for this year despite the challenges imposed by COVID.

Mark and Angie are truly humble, God fearing people who in all things pray and follow God’s leading.

I married into Brown Family Ministry and I am blessed to have been a part of their various ministries over the past 8 years. From helping in the office/administrative arm to being taught to rip an epic bass line to ministering to prisoners in Oregon, I had the privilege to see much of what God does behind the scenes. Since moving to Dallas, TX I continued to serve as the secretary of the board and help preserve the records and decisions made by the board. I am honored and humbled to serve in such a capacity.

The most impactful experiences for me are how Mark, Angie and the rest of the family cares for the least of these. There is nothing ‘elaborate’ or ‘flashy’ about BFM’s ministry because they focus down to the hope and promise we have in Jesus Christ through the gospel.

They want to serve the widows, orphans, foreigners, elderly, prisoners, as well as equip believers through praise and worship at conferences. They are committed to hearing God speak and obeying to His directions. I have trouble picking one specific example, it is the pattern of humble obedience which inspires me the most.

To quote Henry Blackaby, ‘Watch to see where God is working and join Him in His work.’ Without question, God is always working through Brown Family Ministries!

It has been my joy and privilege to watch God minister to the greatest and least of people through this ministry and see lives truly transformed in Christ Jesus.

I’ve witnessed this ministry touch lives in prison, hurting churches, cowboy rodeos, and special places for worship like The Cove all with the same humble and compassionate heart to reach others for Christ. Ministering always comes before weighing the cost. To hear the testimonies of lives changed is amazing to me.

I have known the Browns for many years. Their musical talent communicates on a level that draws people in, but the true goal is to always share the Gospel, to learn about needs and to minister to a lost and dying world.

When Angie and Mark first started talking about the full-time ministry, I was reading the book ‘Radical.’ What I saw was the book coming to life right before my eyes.

The true love of our Lord in the faith of the Brown’s family ministry has inspired me and changed my life. I am truly honored to be a small part of miraculous outreach. True selfless love—they live the mission.
